Grief is not an experience that can be truly understood until you have lost a beloved friend or family member.  The deep sense of loss that occurs as a result of the death, whether expected or sudden, can spur much introspection and reflection.  The questions that arise about our own mortality and finding meaning in our loved one’s life and subsequent death, can lead to an opportunity to transform our grief into becoming more connected with ourselves and others and discovering how truly resilient we are.
