Animals seem to have a sense that allows them to tune in to our feelings. They can provide such unconditional love at a time when nothing or no one can comfort or console us. In times of grief and sorrow, man’s best friend may be just what we need to bring a smile back to our face and to take our focus away from our grief as we engage in taking our dog for long walks, or find ourselves playing fetch or simply have the dog lay on our lap.
