During such challenging time of personal loss and grief, you may find yourself or other loved ones experiencing a range of emotions from shock, or relief, to emptiness and numbness and every other emotion in between.
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, renowned psychiatrist and author who famously published ON DEATH AND DYING in 1969, identified the following stages of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. While there are some people who experience the stages in order, not everyone does, and it is not at all unheard of to experience these stages repeatedly, to varying degrees and in different order. Ultimately, grief follows no timeline and is as unique as every individual. Reach out to loved ones and friends during this time. You do not have to grieve alone.
“We grieve because we love. The intensity of the grief often proclaims the depth of our love.” – Gary Roe
